Paul Oakley is an LA native, Founder and CTO of Eyestrain Video Services, specializing in Broadcast and Digital Cinema systems and workflow.  

 

His interest in engineering stems from a broken reel-to-reel HiFi his uncle gave him when he was 9, which he taught himself to repair, ultimately leading to KROQ-FM in Los Angeles in 1986, and a career in Broadcasting, working with many of LA’s top radio and television broadcasters.

 

In 1992 he formed Eyestrain, originally as Eyestrain Productions, producing numerous credits including an award winning independent film.  During this time Eyestrain was an early adopter of nonlinear and hybrid editing workflow, and early post production software systems.

 

With industry changes in the mid 1990's Paul pivoted back to his engineering roots and began working with Silicon Valley companies developing, back then, the new media technologies Hollywood now relies on.  

 

For over 35 years Eyestrain has been providing bespoke engineering and workflow services, custom hardware and software, integrated mobile equipment packages and consulting to the Entertainment, Broadcast and AV industries.
